Sir Philip Anthony Hopkins is a Welsh actor and producer. He is very talented, having won many honors and awards such as the Academy Award and two Emmys. He was recognized by Queen Elizabeth II in 1993 because of his contributions to the arts. During an interview in 2017, Sir Hopkins announced that he was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome. He admitted that his condition made it difficult to have relationships, both with peers and family. He stated that, “I think being on the spectrum made me a loner. I could never settle anywhere. I was troubled and caused trouble, especially in my early years.” His struggle to socialize led to a lot of insecurity when he was younger. Despite these challenges, Sir Hopkins proudly said that his talent and ability to focus on the work that he loves, being on a set and remembering lines from the script, is because of Asperger’s. Additionally, he is more at peace with himself than he was when he was younger. He is now 83 years old but continues to dazzle his fans and the world with his talent on stage.
